2020 has proven to be a difficult year on a lot of levels. With the holiday season approaching, 106 Self Storage is partnering with The Salvation Army to raise funds for its Rescue Christmas holiday initiative. When you donate money at our County Road facility, your donation goes toward meals, presents, and other resources for the Plympton MA community during the holidays.
The effects of COVID-19 have been prominent in local communities. The Salvation Army expects a 50% decrease in money usually made from the red kettle program. This is due to more online shopping and store closures and fewer people carrying cash. The unemployment rates are expected to be about 10-11% higher than usual, meaning fewer people are able to give and more need assistance.
Donations to The Salvation Army through 106 Self Storage will be given directly to the Plympton MA community for the holidays. The Salvation Army in Massachusetts has already provided 12 million meals to families since March. The money you donate also goes toward homeless shelters, as well as bills and groceries for those who are unable fulfill those obligations in their current situations. And The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program makes sure kids have presents to open on Christmas morning, especially during a time when money is tight for so many parents.
